Hello Jay
I will timidly shy away from the current fray, some mindfulness that I can be a very not-nice person, i.e., an asshole, so I try to stay on target, but I admit enormously enjoy verbal banter vicariously...
To point:
A very interesting article in the recent Smithsonian Mag brought to my attention by my oldest and best friend form high school years. I have inflicted Empire of Debt AND Creature From Jekyll Island upon him so he is partly wise...
The Smithsonian article addresses demographics and birthrates comparing Europe, Germany and others, the US ...and most surprisngly China...all said the USA about which I am enormously pessimistic is compared to Europe and much worse, China, those other non-USA places facing demographic disaster as each address the huge problems of their baby boomers, esp with respect to China's long standing on e child policy...what do you know of this problem of economic danger facing China?
I came away from the article thinking that the USA is in deep trouble but that the numbers indicate everywhere else is so much worse.
