Probably a bit inaccurate to say, but the metaphor is probably right on, that this is a demographic tsunami brewing, the Japanese facing extinction in the foreseeable future. Unlike the USA with Mexicans and Europe with moslems Japanese are rumored in Seattle where I lived for 20 years to be the most xenophobic people on Earth, hence unable to tolerate foreigners to fill there roles to pay social security support. Martin Weiss in his newsletter yesterday reported a 30+ trillion unfunded liability for Medicare that will hit before Social Security since baby boomers here will reach Medicare age of 65 before full SS age of 67...and this will go on for 18 !!! years as the baby boomers reach their ages of retirement. The ONLY way governments (the USA the biggest offender here in my view) who have promised what they are absolutely unable to deliver can avoid default of promises is printing by way of the printing press, i.e., inflation, which to sound an old refrain that is anathema to Mquarice, the only possible way out for some of us to get by a little better than our less astute fellows, is to buy gold...Hmmm...indeed...interesting times...
