Your post is very misleading - you are claiming Clarke changed jobs in March 2001. No, my post makes no such assertion. My post says that clarke ASKED to change jobs in march 2001. My post suggests that the reason for this is that the bush adminsitration had already sidelined clarke, well before the 9/11 event. My post also suggests that the bush adminstration did not take alqueda seriously as a substantial threat until 9/11, and then proceeded with an "invade mexico" policy...which brings us to the present day, wherein second rate rogue nations feel at absolute liberty to deride our demands... Brumar, quit lying about Clinton and Clarke. You are either ignorant or totally misinformed. Here's the bottomline. Clinton had a 24-7 Al Qaida desk in the WH runn by Clarke. They were on the ball every minute of every day. Bus came in and disbanded them completely. Didn't replace them with anything. So no anti-Al Qaida operations whatsoever under Bush. Nothing. You can't spin this any other way. Clinton was on the ball and Bush was AWOL. Period. There is nothing inbetween to spin. Bush even ignored the 8-6-01 warning which alone is grounds for impeachment for dereliction of duty.
