Because those now retired and in need of medical care paid taxes their entire working careers TRUSTING that government was investing a portion of those taxes for their own care when they retired.

To completely eliminate these programs now would be a greater tragedy than the government fraud that developed and promised these benefits over decades of time.

Would you want your own parents and grand-parents to have these benefits suddenly withdrawn? I think not.

Reforms I have recommended need to be phased in slowly to reduce dependency on government while more practical approaches are developed. I do not have all the answers, nor do I pretend to. I just know that if we continue on the present course, in the not distant future social and economic failure will occur on a massive scale.

I am open to all suggestions on how the system may be improved. Thanks for asking.
