MICRO Editor is back, but others at EETimes are going!

It has been a bit of a roller coaster of late with several semiconductor publications closing and related changes. Some good news comes our way that Tom Cheyney, former Editor of MICRO Magazine, which closed down mid-year is back as editor of MICRO Online!

It would seem from his old blog spot (http://www.micromagazine.com/blog/) that he is back writing again and news from the Australian outback at the weekend indicates that Tom may have acquired the online rights to MICRO and is now back in business. Tom is also attending an ISMI conference in Austin this week, so he must have put the hammock back in the garage!

What isn't good news as Tom notes in his revived blog, is that veteran tech journalist Dave Lammers, of EE Times, as well as some other reporters at CMP's flagship are being made redundant. I don't think Dave will be in a position to buy EETimes online and re-emerge that way, but with his experience there should some interested takers.
