Jobs will never pick a successor.

He will when he finds someone suitable. I see lots of choices, but no obvious choices. And right now, most contenders have more going against them than for them.

It's a good thing he's not going anywhere for a while, and we're sure to see Apple stock affected by any talk of stepping down. Watch what happens when Warren Buffett steps down, despite decades of preparation, I'm sure the event will make waves.

I think the best stockholders can hope for is that Jobs will keep his job.
