Zionists pressing Pope to join their crusade.

VATICAN CITY - An American Jewish leader on Thursday urged Pope
Benedict to help protect Jews from Iran, saying it and its president were examples of a new "global malignancy" of anti-Semitism that could bring another Holocaust.

Abe Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League in the United States, made his comments in an address to the Pope during an audience at the Vatican.

"We hope you will declare the Church's commitment to do everything in its power to prevent another Holocaust against the Jewish people from any party of the globe, including Iran," Foxman told the Pope.

"In this generation arises a country's leader who not only denies the Holocaust, the attempted genocide of the Jewish people but again threatens to wipe out Israel, the state of the Jewish people - the president of Iran," Foxman told the Pope.

Last year, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a former Revolutionary Guardsman, called Israel a "tumour" which must be "wiped off the map", provoking a diplomatic storm and stoking up fears about Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Ahmadinejad also aired his doubts about the veracity of the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were killed by the Nazis. His comments drew rebuke the world over, including from the Vatican at the time.

"Today, sadly, the profound evil of anti-Semitism has become a global malignancy, emanating with vicious, violent, virulent force from the Middle East and (from) fundamental Islam," Foxman said in his speech.

Anxiety over Iran in Israel and in world Jewish communities has increased since Tehran failed to meet an Aug. 31 deadline to give up uranium enrichment, which the United States and some other countries say is aimed at developing nuclear weapons.

Tehran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.

In his address to the Jewish group, the Pope repeated the Church's condemnation of anti-Semitism but did not make any reference to Foxman's comments about Iran.

The Pope said Muslim, Jewish and Christian leaders needed to work harder to improve dialogue and promote "authentic respect" among cultures and religions.

The Pope said members of the three great monotheistic religions should build on the "many common convictions" they share.

"In our world today, religious, political, academic and economic leaders are being seriously challenged to improve the level of dialogue between peoples and between cultures," the Pope told the Jewish delegation.

Devout Christians march for Zionism in Jerusalem.
news.yahoo.com

Zionists are not Christians. Christians are not Zionists. Protestants or 'evangelicals' may be Zionists, but they are not Christians.

P.S. There is such a concept as a spiritual Zion, which all Christians partake of, but if one is not a Christian they will not be able to grasp the difference between the spiritual Zionism and the carnal one. so unless I specify otherwise, I am referring to the earthly Zionism that most people associate with the term.

The Zionism that many on this thread abhor is not the true Zionism, but rather Satan's carnal counterfeit.

More than 5,000 evangelical Christians, including believers from as far afield as Congo and New Zealand, marched through Jerusalem on Tuesday to voice their support for Zionism and the state of Israel.

This is fulfillment of what has been foretold thousands of years in advance by the holy prophets. This is called worship of Antichrist.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13.7-8)

The event, organized by a group known as the International Christian Embassy of Israel, was the latest trip to the Holy Land by what are dubbed Christian Zionists, whose avid support for Israel....

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (Matthew 24.11)

Christian Zionists form a growing part of the pro-Israel lobby in the United States, the Jewish state's main ally.

"Christian Zionist" is an oxymoron. One cannot be a Christian and a Zionist. A carnal one that is. The only Zion Christians are to partake of is the heavenly Zion, not the earthly counterfeit in the middle east.

They believe the return of Jews to the Holy Land and establishment of Israel are proof of God's promises to biblical patriarchs.

The promises were given to both Abraham and his seed. Christ is the seed of Abraham, hence the recipient of the promises. Apparently these Zionist hucksters are so busy shilling for money on their cable tv programs that they haven't bothered to read the holy Apostle Paul's epistle to the Galatians very closely.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3.16)

All the promises of God are in Jesus Christ. Apparently they are too busy running money-making telethons to read the holy Apostle Paul's second epistle to the Corinthians.

For all the promises of God in him [i.e. Christ] are yea, and in him truly, unto the glory of God by us. (2 Corinthians 1.20)

In recent years, Christian Zionist groups in the United States have even provided money for social and educational groups in Israel, and have actively promoted its politics.

Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (Matthew 6.2)
