Seriously though, even the Army, the service with the lowest requirements, accepts only people with HS diplomas or GEDs, and they have to pass a pretty comprehensive test. Walk into the kitchen of any hospital, and you'll see a lot of people who wouldn't qualify for military service. Today's GIs are some really fine people, not the dregs of society as you imply. If you knew them, you wouldn't disparage them. But, if the US were to bring back the draft, then you'd have a case. Good thing Charlie Wrangle isn't in a position to do that.
