The "moderate" Muslims see the extremists winning these kind of battles, and it gives them a reason to join them.

The "moderate" Muslims, the majority of the cabbies, who are not making an issue about transporting booze are the ones your approach would punish. You're driving them into the arms of the radicals who are asking for special dispensation. You're the one "giving them a reason to join them." It's the radicals you want to target. Oh, the irony. Sheesh!!

BTW, I flew in and out of MSP this summer. Those Somali Muslims are also quite prominently employed in other areas such as servicing the car-rental fleet. On several occasions I needed help and had trouble finding someone who spoke passable English. Seems like quite a change since that last time I'd been there ten years abo.
