That's irrelevant due primarily to the very different character of the average citizen and culture and politician. I can't imagine any politician today basically voting for deflation.

Do note I consider/define hyperinflation as starting around 15-20%. I'm unaware of any broad agreement or definition, although I have seen folk defining it as 50%+ per year too,
