CR I gave up on McClain long long long ago.
I would have voted for him at one time.
I would also have considered Powell at one time.

Both sold their soul but for different reasons.
The former is blind ambition - McCain
The latter is blind loyalty in the face of what he knew was wrong - Powell

It is really sad
I am surprised you did not see this before

I predict here and now, and you can bookmark this for later reference, and I'll pay any and all of you $100 each if I'm wrong (really, I'm not kidding), that when the sun expands in about 4 billion years and absorbs the earth, destroying all life on the planet, it WILL BE BLAMED ON CLINTON.

Millions of years later, when the sun collapses and then explodes into a nova, *that* explosion will also be blamed on Clinton even though the planet's long gone, because the last gasp of our doomed civilization will have been to launch a capsule on a route that would take it around the entire Milky Way Galaxy, and in that capsule will be a flat panel TV with a video loop with all world leaders, one after the other, blaming global warming (to vapor) on this dog named Clinton.

So if you come across that probe, let me know, and I'll send you your $100.
