One of those lives was mine!!!

An old friend of mine was married to a guy who was a mechanic at a local small airport. He claimed that many Dr"s were the worst for not going through check lists before they flew. He said they got into their planes and flew them like they were cars without doing necessary checks.

He had been a helicopter mechanic in the Navy so he got the job in the civilian world after discharge.

A PhD co-worker of mine almost bit the bullet in New Mexico. He realized all his oil was gone and he had a few minutes left to land..................the mechanic who checked his engine told him he was 1 minute from death. He didn't tell his wife...........he just landed and hoped for the best cause he knew his oil was gone.

I don't know how it happened but he is living in Albuquerque now.
