European Chip Stocks. Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- STMicroelectronics NV and ASML Holding NV may lead European chip stocks higher after analysts recommended buying the shares. ASML Upgrade ASML, Europe's largest maker of semiconductor equipment, was upgraded to ``buy'' from ``neutral'' at UBS AG. The brokerage wrote in a report distributed today that ``continued strong demand from memory producers is expected to support ASML's order intake over the next nine months.''
