The stock market is levitating, the bond market is moving sideways, the economy is slowing but still moving forward and the dollar is on hold. We are indeed floating on a cushion of air supplied by the dollar/bond bubble. So long as we don't stall out the economy, the bond and stock markets seem to be betting that we ride out the cooling of the housing market without slipping into recession or crashing the dollar. That remains to be seen -- but for those who are betting on the economy lurching into reverse and taking bond prices higher and stock prices lower, these must be nervous times.
