You're correct, Tim. People who think like that are usually less well-educated, and pretty solid in their beliefs. These are people to whom the question, "which came first, the chicken or the egg" doesn't pose the slightest doubt, because they KNOW that God created the chicken. I'm reminded of that old song, "gimme that old time religion... it was good enough for daddy, and it's good enough for me."

But that's not to say that some well-educated people don't have similar beliefs. Those are the people capable of "double think" (apologies to Huxley), who can separate their religious beliefs from their logical thinking. I've read about some well known scientists who have such beliefs. (Wish I could remember the names...)

The father of my girlfriend, when I was much younger, told me, during the Apollo Program, that "they might get to the moon, but God won't let them come back."
