OK, explain why the prosecutor in the Duncan murder case refused a plea bargain in which the creep would get life in prison (sure to be short by all accounts, including the sheriff's) and the federal indictment with a death penalty is still in the offing.

Wouldn't the taxpayers be better served by the plea bargain? I'm normally opposed to the idea, but in this case it makes sense under the circumstances.

Unless you're a prosecutor hunting a reputation.

What's the deal here?
