hello carranza2, there is not a lot of worry about n.korea, as indicated by the markets everywhere including asia;

there is some concern regarding n.korea and america, as per view from media;

japan is making noise, hoping to engineer a military recovery off the backs of clear n.korean provocation, but with a GDP per capita of so much, the true fighting spirit had long left japan - its parliament prefer debating on whether teen age girls used underwear can be sold via vending machines;

s.korea will not use nuke on n.koreans, and all doubt n.korea would use same on the south koreans, of course not counting foreign troops in s.korea;

n.korea wants continuity for regime, is conserving its resources for various contingencies, so it appears;

usa is not concerned about n.korea, but about n.korean know-how, because as the knowledge disseminates more broadly, the aircraft carriers will have to remain at sea forever, never coming anywhere near striking range of anything.

as russia and china is now clearly not inclined to patrolling, nor wealthy enough to do so, they of course are not as worried, and so we have the current situation that is only explainable as above, as opposed to the spin in Times and Newsweek.

chugs, j

The Chinese and Russians are exhibiting their status as wannabes by playing silly games. With great power comes great responsibility, a notion which apparently has not been understood.

I could be wrong, but I think the Chinese and the Russians are at least as smart as you and I.

Do they really think that Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan would allow NK to go nuclear without having a competing nuclear program of their own?

Who would they think would win that race?

Just how many weeks would it take Japan and South Korea to surpass NK nuclear capabilities?

And, how many more weeks would it take Japan to come up with a delivery system using technology they already have producing consumer products and toys?

I think it is too easy and too dangerous to underestimate Chinese and Russian intelligence.

But I think I know where you are coming from. Look at the IQ of GWB. If you look at it that way, then I can understand there must be people in China and Russia with that level of intelligence. That is a scary thought.
