I'm glad you started this thread. I'm immune to the affects of THC myself, and I can't smoke anything, since I have a terrible reaction to smoke, but for many people pot represents an excellent drug- just as alcohol does for certain problems, or cigarettes (which you may or may not know do seem to help with OCD and other mental illnesses). I think it's crazy to criminalize drugs which have a long sustained history of human use- especially when it's clear the drugs are efficacious. I don't know why the insanity continues.

Prohibition of alcohol was crazy, and the prohibition against marijuana is similarly deluded. What I don't get is why people aren't more upset about it. It is a waste of governmental resources (police, court, prison); it is a waste of private resources- people's cars, homes, money (for seizures/fines/bail/attorneys), and it's just stupid to run a society this way.
