I'd say for "taking a stab at it" you wrote a very insightful post.

My father used to say that all you needed to know about politics is that they will have the same self interest as everyone else, on every level up to National. The more powerful they are the more they will assert it.

The director of the new movie about a comedian running for president was interviewed by Lou Dobbs and said something like it's not the Democrats or Republicans, Blue or Red States it is the system itself that needs changing.

I totally agree. Though I think Bush has been a horrible president I do thing the war, tax cuts, liberal government spending, looking the other way on illegals ect.. were all a deliberate attempt at inflating our way out of the mess, jump starting the world economy and spreading US consumerism to more and more people like never before.. If he had done none of these we might have entered a prolonged 'soft depression' like Japan just went through by 2004 IMHO..

Now we appear to at an opposite extreme. Are our leaders smart enough to figure it out?
