I'm waiting to load up on puts but we've got 3 weeks to go for the 'event'. You know the drill 'buy the rumour sell the news'.

Ironic how Wall Street always talks about how bad the Democrats are for the economy yet the stock market performs much better when they have at least some control and they ran the DOW to all time highs in anticipation of that event<g>

I certainly thought we'd first have a selloff in Sept and early Oct with a huge run into the elections and then on to year end. I also never thought long term treasury rates or gas prices would plunge the way they did either.

Yet I'm break even since late July and up 70% YTD in my stock portfolio. Moral of the story is always play defense first and wait for that fat pitch to come your way. Don't get in front of any runaway train going against you no matter how much you thing you know..

We are so insanely overbought, it is all being kept alive for one reason, elections.

How will the next week's option expiry be played? Up or down?
