"I don't understand why we can't get Russia and China in a treaty with the other club members that would expressly prohibit anyone else on the planet getting nukes."

I've been waiting for this forever. Why not? It seemed the logical course after the Cold War. Demand countries allow throrough inspections or be nuked themselves at the end of a regieme of sanctions.

In the meantime, work to reduce our own needlessly bloated stockpiles to enhance credibility and tamp down resistance, and just reduce the number of nukes in the world.

Every nuke that exists ANYWHERE is a terrorist act at least thousand times worse than 9/11, just waitng to happen.
