go to the maps.google.com and type in an address, any address that you know that is in a met area.

Now type in Pizza. Or real estate agents.

See the banners at the top? This is LOCAL advertising based on regional designation that has been underserved forever. Its different than the keyword label pizza which is national and only served by the national chains. With maps, you get the local bidders.

Maps allows the user to designate his region, basically.
