Yeah...I think it would be a good idea. But people could opt for the military option of the many that would be offered.

It would help to get the young people in this country reaquainted with the idea that they are part of something larger than themselves.

But it should include pregnant high school dropouts as well as class valdictorians with scholarships to Yale. And that those who go into the military should be volunteers only, with at least a 3 year committment. If they aren't committed to the military, they should be cleaning pigon droppings off statues."

I thought that deserved a repost.

In South Korea all citizens are required to serve in the Military after High School. I believe it is for two years. It used to be a custom for the upper middle class to send their kids away for college and a life outside Korea.
