Those reports are probably talking about air readings.

(But I thought the sat. detectors would provide the definitive info....)

Railroads will form intermodal corridor
Friday October 13, 10:41 am ET

BNSF Railway Co. and CSX Corp.'s rail transportation and intermodal companies plan to create a high-volume rail corridor for intermodal services on the lines connecting California, Atlanta and the rest of the Southeast.

The service will initially include two intermodal trains each day between the West Coast and Southeast in each direction. Corridor volume on the line is expected to grow with the overall expansion of the West Coast to Southeast intermodal market.

To support the planned service, BNSF will expand capacity on its rail lines connecting Avard, Okla.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Birmingham, Ala. CSX will expand its rail line between Birmingham and Atlanta, as well as its intermodal terminal in Fairburn, Ga., near Atlanta.

The agreement also allows for continued shared rail service between Memphis and Florida, as well as improved connections with the Carolinas and other key Southeast destinations.

"This agreement enables CSX to provide more seamless and reliable service to our intermodal customers," said Clarence Gooden, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Jacksonville-based CSX Corp. (NYSE: CSX - News). "It also complements CSX Transportation's ongoing capacity expansions in our Southeastern markets and positions us to handle additional intermodal freight as import and domestic demand continue to rise."

The new agreement replaces and expands on the terms of an earlier agreement signed in 2001 that would have expired in 2007. The new service is to begin in early 2007, with the initial capacity projects, consisting primarily of sidings and terminal expansion, to be completed by the end of next year. The agreement also allows for future capacity expansion along the corridor.

A subsidiary of Fort Worth, Texas-based Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. (NYSE:BNI - News), BNSF Railway Co. operates one of the largest railroad networks in North America, with approximately 32,000 route miles in 28 states and two Canadian provinces.

CSX owns CSX Transportation and CSX Intermodal and provides rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services. The railroad's transportation network spans 21,000 miles and services 23 eastern states and the District of Columbia.

The North Korean nuclear bomb likely fissioned about 1/2 of 1% of the plutonium due to poor design of the conventional explosives used to create the implosion.

I think this explains everything we need to know about North Korea.

"Kim [Jong-il] was [is] an alcoholic who went on three-day drinking binges."

theaustralian.news.com.au

Alcoholics can't manage their own life, let alone a nation. Yet some nations even freely elect alcoholics to be their leader. Why?

The problem is that, even after they're sober, alcoholics still have the personality and character defects of an alcoholic. Becoming sober is only part of the battle.

This manifests itself in a rigid one-dimensional world view where there are no subtleties - everything is black or white, right or wrong. Its difficult to see anything from a perspective other than their own.

Their behaviour is self-centered, grandiose, dishonest, short-tempered and belligerent. They frequently lie, even about things which don't matter - and even when telling the truth would be more beneficial.

If you have two alcoholics who have been sober for 20 years, one who diligently worked on their character defects and the other who merely stayed sober, the difference is immediately obvious. . . But even the sober alcoholic who has worked hard to change their character, will can still frequently revert to the behaviour of a belligerent drunk when they are under pressure.

The bizarre Kim Jung-il of North Korea is a perfect example of an alcoholic. People wonder what his master strategy is . . . he doesn't have one. He's just an alcoholic acting out. I'm sure he has no exit strategy for his nuclear gambit, nor any coherent plan for preventing the collapse of his nation, other than "no one is going to tell me what to do."
