PBS's Frontline had a program couple of nights ago titled The Enemy Within pbs.org It investigates the so-called "Sleeper Cells". The simple message was that after 5 years, millions of dollars spent, and tremendous loss of personal freedom, not a single AQ cell has ever been found in the US...FBI had to go so far to pay an informant $250,000 to brawbeat a dumb kid to go to some madrassa in Pakistan even though the guy kept declining to want to do so. Then they dragged him in and through hours of interrogation made him confess what he never did and then without a single corroborating evidence they managed to convict him because the judge excluded defense' expert witness who happened to be highly respected former FBI agent and the tapes of the informant pushing the kid to get into a madrassa...incidentally, since when going to madrassa in Pakistan equal to terrorist activity in USA?
