Quite honestly, all religions look equally silly to me. Most people use religion either to rationalize the most antisocial behavior imaginable, or to give themselves an air of superiority, all evidence of a lack of superiority to the contrary.

On the flip side, a lot of religious folks seem to derive some measure of comfort from their belief in an imaginary friend, and most religions include codes of ethics, which for the most part are fairly honorable. As a rule of thumb, I avoid the topic in polite conversation and try not to annoy folks who believe in magic, ghosts, mythology, etc. if they don't annoy me first.

As close as I can tell, the difference between Zionists and Jews is some nonsense of the Armageddon variety. The Jews believe they're supposed to walk the earth in a scenario along the lines of Cain in Kung Fu, until after the end of days comes, and then they get to go to the happy hunting ground of Zion.

The Zionists believe they can bring about the end of days by collecting all these wandering Jews, and plopping them all down in a Zionist state, which then turns into the happy hunting ground after the world comes to an end.

On one side you have folks who try to be good just in case the world comes to an end, and on the other side, you have folks who think it's good to work toward bringing an end to the world.

So, I suppose if there's a point to this silly discussion - which strikes me as a horrible waste of bandwidth - it's probably that political support for folks who want to see the world come to an end isn't very bright. No big deal back in the days when ending the world required divine intervention, but not a very smart move when it means putting the finger of a wacko on a button that makes it happen.
