Are the Chinese Army soldiers or today more humane than the German Army of 1940?

The Germans tried it during their invasion of Poland and Russia in WWII. They couldn't do it either. They gave up and went to an long term organized system.

The logistics are just overwhelming.

Seventy years ago you probably would have said much the same about the German Army

70 years ago there wasn't a strong international norm against doing such a thing. As Hitler remarked, does anyone remember the Armenians? Today it would be an outrage.

Don't think China doesn't care about Tianamen - they are very touchy about it. And that was peanuts compared to mowing down thousands of refugees crossing the Yalu.
