Well, thank you, but the one you responded to wasn't by me. It came from an article I was reading at the time and when I saw that particular segment, I thought of the post by GPS and thought it fit so I pulled it. In my haste I failed to italitize OR credit it. And I can't now, because who KNOWS where it came from! I am not very organized as I read and sometimes have to go back and take a lot of time to find something I had read earlier-- like the apes and percussion- when someone questions me. I never did find the study I originally had seen referenced!

Isn't it a fascinating topic though? My last director and I used to talk about this- why music affects us as it does. Can't wait til the books I ordered arrive! I got Your Brain on Music, but I also ordered The Singing Neanderthal.

I am glad you and Lane have enjoyed B's and my exchanges- I figured we were reaching the point of "someone please drop a piano on her head!"

"You should write for the newspaper on just these."

I agree, or a book for us non-professional music theorists.
