Thanks for the suggestion. I have found that to be effective with some posters in the past. I PM'd Souix immediately after the incident hoping that it wouldn't turn into one of those ugly dog pile things that we have all seen too much of. I pointed out that he had gotten the wrong idea about the post. The article was written by a left winger for left wingers and I suggest he try re-reading it from the presumption that a friend had posted it. His PM response was very rude and hateful. At first I could tell that he still didn't get it but later it seems someone clued him in but he reinforced the hateful comments rather than retracting them. And he promoted the dog pack of hate comments on his thread, leaving little doubt about the situation. I didn't see anyone like you pointing out the unfairness of that to those who participated and don't expect to. There is zero tolerance for dissident behavior on that thread, except when expressed as hatred of the Bush admin or anyone refusing to make that the focus of their life on SI. No problem. I have unmarked the site and there is no need for he and the pals on that thread to have anything to do with me if they would rather not. best regards, gem

ML, This is odd. Nothing is off topic here! (except explicit political discussion- just because it's so hard to keep it friendly with people of varying political beliefs when you get in to the political stuff.) Thanks for posting that. I have seen many Iranian films I have loved. Children of Heaven,the Mirror, and the White Balloon are some of my favorites- but the one I watch again and again, is Baran.
