No it was a compromise. If it was up to Clinton entirely he would likely have made discrimination illegal in the military which it should be. Every citizen has both the obligation and the right to defend this country. It's the US's --rightwing freakshow hate everyone who isn't exactly like us stepford people-- pushing for this kind of witch hunt. It always is. Rightwingers are always trying to make other people's lives miserable while they tax and steal for themselves.
