Studds just died. Quit pissing on his grave. What he did was wrong but it back in the 1970's and things were very different then legally speaking. That's when Catholic priests, evangelical preachers ands boy scouts were seducing teenaged boys with impunity.

The Dem congress censured Studds, which meant he had to endure public scorn from all members of congress. But technically he didn't do anything legal so he couldn't be arrested, and the young man, who was older then defended him and stayed with him. Studds wasn't expected to return but he ran for re-election and got elected again and again. So blame his constituents. There were no democrats praising him. On the contrary. He was scorned and badly punished.

Why is Foleygate different? Because Foley was rewarded, not punished. Because the GOP made it their business to pose as defenders of children against sexual predators. But they defended the predator instead. And Hastert just openly lied saying he just found out about it two weeks ago when he has known for many years. So obviously, there was a cover up and they even got Foley to run for re-election after hw anted to retire. And Foley did have sex with pages, a few years after they left DC. Also, Studds was 30 years ago so it's hardly relevant now except as a GOP super-lame excuse
