yeah, i read it. i agree with much of what he says and i was particularly interested in his info on the NOCs (national oil cos), who, he says, are in very bad repair. that is something you don't hear about a lot.

the rest of what he said was pretty standard fair (world running out of oil; good idea to buy reserves in safe parts of the world like Canada [duh!]). i was a little dismayed that he didn't mention Canadian Oil Sands in his flurry of Canadian oil sands stock reco's, but that's par for the course: COS gets left out a lot because it doesn't have a US listing.

i think his idea that CL will bottom in early 07 or 08 and one should hold off buying until then is too cute by half. to me that's silly guy talk*. nobody knows when CL will bottom (maybe it already has; the stocks seem to have), and also nobody knows if the stocks will bottom the same time CL does. but even beasts in human skin* can see CL and the equities have already fallen precipitously. if one is buying for a secular theme that will play out over many years, i think the market has provided a pretty decent entry already.

* there is no use trying to come up with clever phrases anymore. all the best ones have already been discovered by the North Korean Propaganda Department. i am humbled by their erudition.
