One of the peculiarities of alcoholics is that they think most people abuse alcohol just like they do.

This is because they prefer to associate with other alcoholics.

Probably better than half the population has abused alcohol to some extent at some point in their lives.

What do you mean by this? Is getting drunk on election night when your candidate wins, or when your sports team wins, but then not drinking other than the occasional beer or wine for the rest of the year count as abuse? Or are you saying 50% have had a control problem with alcohol? If the latter, I would have to disagree.

Any studies on this.
