SEC to ease margin rules in cost-cut move

news.moneycentral.msn.com

Could this be part of the reason for the explosive rally in the markets? Doesn't this just encourage speculation/irrational exuberance? Is this being seen as the SEC put? The article even says, "The US is set to relax margin rules in force since after the Wall Street crash of 1929.". Duh? What happens when all of this new liquidity is used up and how long will that take?

OTOH, some of this cheap money will also find its way into PMs. <g>
