Cobalt, that other people may have believed a false thing, does not make it "unfalse" when someone says it. Surely this is obvious? If all the democrats in the house are convinced by a press briefing that the sun revolves around the Earth, but Mr. Bush says in the rose garden "The sun revolves around the Earth," I think we would both agree that he said a false thing. I did not believe it, so I can say this with extra emphasis. I'm glad we agree he said false things. At least we'll always have that. There were very credible sources who said the information was incorrect, unfortunately Mr. Bush wasn't listening, nor was congress and nor were you. That's not a particularly good excuse for being wrong- but I understand why people like it. I understand why you use it, and I'm ok with you using it, as long as you realize what you are doing. That's the old "If every one were jumping off a cliff would you do it too?" Your answer apparently is "yes, and it's ok because everyone else is." My answer is "no".
