The killings in Iraq are far from random. They are quite clearly sectarian. You have mentioned that Hitler did quite well in trying to kill them all, yet you were the one who said that premise didn't make sense. I'm the one who said it does make sense to people who think they can do it. I think you are arguing my side. Clever trick, but I'm not falling for it.

:-)

I think in your heart you agree with me, that genocide makes sense, but it horrifies you, and if this is so we are in complete agreement. It is horrifying that genocide makes sense to humans, but it does, and we have to deal with the fact that it does, and combat it with the full and dreadful knowledge that we are not combatting something illogical, but something that has its own certain and brutal logic, and it will take something concrete and attractive to replace this idea in the minds of people considering it.

"If you believe that the Jooooos and the Commies are out to destroy your world, killing Jews and Commies makes objective sense."

If you believe that the Ay-rabs and the North Koreans are out to destroy your world, killing Ay-rabs and North Koreans makes objective sense.

Same fear-driven fascism, different time.
