I quite clearly worded it so it was not a statement about "lies". People who believe untruths to be true are mistaken, they are not liars. I have no way of telling whether the Bush admin knew the false data to be false, or merely were mistaken, so generally I try to word this as tactfully as possible.

I didn't say that the present government didn't ask us to say right this minute. But what happens when the present Iraqi government isn't the only government in town? And I believe recent surveys of Iraqis have show the Iraqi people want the US out. So you can also wonder, at what point does the Iraqi government no longer represent Iraq, especially when you have competing governments being set up. What I said was that it is hard to believe this president will order our troops out when asked to go (if he is asked to go)- I suspect he will find a way to pretend that the organization that asked him doesn't represent Iraq. It will be interesting to watch it play out- but that's my prediction. I will be pleased to be wrong about this.
