I had a waffle/sandwich grill which I used the dickens out of. Had it for years, I think my wife bought it maybe 15 years ago. Last year I was making a grilled ham and cheese sandwich when I answered the phone. Forgetting the sandwich, I blabbed away for several minutes. When I came back, the sandwich was a piece of charcoal and the cheese had melted into the burners under the grill. After an hour of trying to clean it, I gave up and put it in the trash. That's when I got the Denali. But, you're right, this stuff sure takes a lot of storage space, which I don't have in abundance.
