If a person has one glass of wine with dinner each day and drinks nothing else, I would categorize them as a social drinker.

But in an attempt to prove that George W. Bush and Kim Jung-il are not alcoholics, DMA found a study which would categorize those who drink one glass of wine with dinner as "binge drinkers". I think that's pretty funny, and an incorrect description.

Yet even when you cast your net as wide as the study DMA cites, this still includes only 22% of the general population!

The truth is only a small percentage of the population abuse alcohol. Those who do over time are alcoholics, not normal drinkers. George W. Bush and Kim Jong-il are alcoholics, not normal alcohol abusers (whatever that is) as DMA contends.
