Nevertheless, the vast majority of people in Iraq voted for their National Assembly, and even elected a substantial number of women (48, I think).

Sure, there are people all over the world who feel more comfortable being controlled by others, but I think it's a minority. Maybe a significant minority but still a minority.

Why should the majority cave in to the demands or even needs of the minority and live in a police state just because the minority wants to?
