I don't think Bush will cut-and-run in Iraq to make "daddy" and James Baker happy. After all, these are the two who cut-and-run from Iraq the first time, after the First Gulf War, leaving hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to be slaughtered by Sodom Insane.

At this point in time, Bush isn't a "politician" any more. He isn't running for re-election. He's just a President who made a pledge to the Iraqi people.

Like it or don't, he's not backing down. He's beholden to nobody, although if the Senate decides to undeclare war in Iraq, maybe that's what they'll have to do.

My guess is that they won't, even if the Dems do take over the Senate in 2006. First they'll have to get past the filibusters.

You're all in favor of filibusters, I'm sure. ;^)
