The rightwing GOP is the most corrupt bunch we have ever seen. Literally, almost the entire GOP leadership is guilty of massive Cunningham-Abramoff-Delay type corruption. Over the Ted Stevens, Rick Santorum types are also very corrupt.

If Reid is guilty of corruption let him stand trial, but so far the charges against him are not clearly illegal, just mildly unethical. I've heard Senator Ensign of Nevada a Republican is much more corrupt. So what about him? And frankly any big politician in Nevada is bound to be a little corrupt. It's Vegas, baby. What do you expect? Mother Theresa ain't gonna win in Nevada.

All that said, I'd prefer a new majority leader when Dems take the senate. Or if they don't, a new almost-majority leader because Dems are either going to take the senate or it's going to be 49-49 or 50-48 with two independents and two GOP female Maine moderates being the deciders. Come the new session I'm pretty sure Reid will be voted out of the leadership position.

Frist is guilty of major insider trading, and also using his phony charity as a political slush fund. Santorum and Delay are guilty of the same thing, as are several other major GOP congressmen like Gerry Lewis. The Abramoff, Cunningham and Delay investigations show widespread corruption amongst the GOP rightwing leadership, all the way up to Karl Rove in the WHite House as well.

There is nothing even remotely comparable on the democratic side.
