longnshort...when you have books with titles like "Fiasco" being written about you while you're STILL in office, I would think it highly unlikely that future historians are going to be saying GREAT things about you. Paul Volker was on Charley Rose the other night and if that Volker interview was the ONLY thing that historians could use to judge the Bush Administration I don't think Bush would come out looking very good in history. Volker is held in rather high esteem by true Republican conservatives.

You're in EXTREME DENIAL. The #1 best-seller by the most credible political reporter around. Bush and Rove are in extreme denial too, and not just about Iraq. They say they're confident of holding onto the House. When they're 16% behind less than three weeks before the election with several big brewing scandals in the papers. What are they going to do, stage another 9-11 and cancel the elections? WOuldn't put it past them. Today's terrorist alert sure sounded phony, and timed, as all phony Bush terrorists alerts are, right before an election.
