LOL! I ran out of BBs, but my mother had some of these little cake decorations that were about the same size. I swiped a few to see if they worked. Unfortunately they did, and I made a hit on my brother at some distance.

In the same era, my nemesis was a bunch of boys from a family across the alley. They started throwing rocks at me while I was taking out the trash to burn. I went and got my wrist rocket slingshot and started lobbing marbles over into their yard. "Hey, he's shooting marbles! Yay!" Then "Waaaaahhhhh!"

Next thing I know a policeman comes to the door and confiscated my wrist rocket after a stern lecture.

Apparently the policeman gave it to my Dad, who returned it to me a few years later with the observation that he thought I had learned my lesson. Later I was allowed to purchase a pistol for my trapline, and I never abused it. Now I'm a very strong advocate of firearms safety.

That's the second and last time I ever shot anybody.
