The problem with our system is no one talks about it. Health care is a sacred cow. If the US eventually moves towards public healthcare, I am afraid they will look North. healthcare needs to be a public/private venture. People need to know what it costs, and what the province is paying for their care. If you have no idea what things cost, you don't appreciate what you have, and as many Canadians you make no effort to stay healthy. It is the same problem i see with many 'socialist' policies. People on welfare are demanding more money here. No one talks about the problem we have now that it costs more to deliver welfare than it costs us for welfare. So people talk about the huge welfare costs, but most of the money isn't paying for welfare. It is the same with Healthcare, we have so much administration of the money, that we cannot afford the healthcare it is supposed to pay for. That is the big trap. Like I said healthcare is hugely expensive, but it isn't the money we are spending on the healthcare, it is the money we spend on spending the money that is the problem.
