I held my kids accountable in the same way. I would tell my daughter "get in that bathroom and pee, cause you're gonna get a spankin'!!!" She would wet all over her and me if I didn't precede the warning with those instructions. Of course, just knowing about the pending smack was usually punishment enough. I would give her one or two smacks, scaring her more than stinging. They both tell me about how they remember one or two of those and they're in their late 40's. It's called tough love, isn't it?

Yup! Accountability, that's the key to growing up.

Now we can't play tag in the school playground because somebody is afraid accountability will be shifted from those who have it to those who can pay. I'm truly alarmed at the turn of things in our schools these days.
