Thanks, Bob, your research is much appreciated here. If I may bring up an uncomfortable point, it's quite understandable why the triplexer is popular with Verizon, since VZ uses it almost exclusively up, to this point, for the delivery of analog video a la cable tv through a third wavelength. I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, use of the 3rd wavelength by VZ is seen as strictly a temporary fix until the software and other architectural bugs in IPTV systems are shaken out. I'd gladly stand corrected on this, but that's my understanding. Of course other SPs have use for PONs that support analog video, but I don't think we'll be seeing any as large as VZ - not with IPTV waiting in the wings and higher speed PONs coming onto the scene. Corrections, comments welcome.
