Being accused of being an enemy does not make one so. Yes, we have agreed that war has her own expediencies..one of which is the suspension of the presumption of innocence.

I happen to agree with emergency war measures in general. But it is dangerous to introduce such measures under the false pretense that they have nothing to do with suspension of rights. People must have eternal vigilance when it comes to sanctifying the acts of their leaders. And when leaders equivocate, it is a danger sign.

I am speaking in general terms and I will not debate the justification of the current Act. Sometimes rights DO need to be suspended. We have done it here in Canada during (for instance) the FLQ crisis...
