You call it the Liberal Party of Canada. You can call them the Liberals as long as you don't constantly confuse the proper name with the noun or adjective.

For example, the Republicans in the US aren't republican. They're aristocrats, monarchists, dictators, fascists. They're not Republicans but the US is a Republic. The two are not the same...obviously.

This is also why Rove keeps trying to call the Democratic Party the Democrat Party in order not to cause some kind of confusion that only Rove imagines is going on. The Republicans aren't conservatives either since they don't conserve anything but, instead, use it, pollute it or blow it up.
