To my mind, going after the employers of illegals is really the ONLY way that will be effective in controlling the problem. The employers can't run and hide, as the illegals do. It can be argued that they are even more guilty than the illegals themselves.

If employers were terrorized by stiff fines, enforcement and even jail time for repeated offenses to the point where employers across the country were firing the illegals they already employ and refusing to employ more - the problem of illegal immigation would solve itself.

Illegals already here would HAVE to return to Mexico to survive, and illegals IN Mexico would soon get the word that the jobs are no longer available here. Going after employers is the ONLY solution that deals with both problems.
